House in the Hills

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California!

The snow might be sparkling in the bright sunshine but it’s very cold. Lucky my lederhosen are fur lined.

Do you see the cute little chalet tucked away among the sequoia trees? I love the split level design and the steep snow-covered gables. I think it would be a great holiday home, just the right size for an international jet setter like myself.

Oh no!

On closer inspection I’ve changed my mind.

It’s a little too open plan for my liking.

Justin.

Becky invited me to contribute to her April Bright Squares photo challenge. Pop over to The Life of B to see more fabulous entries.

  1. well hello Justin, what a treat you are back and taking us on real jet setting treats

  2. Fur lined lederhosen must be such a boon in chilly weather. πŸ™‚ I can see why, from the distance, you might like the idea of that chalet – it would have been the perfect spot. πŸ˜€

  3. Great to see you again, Justin. We agree, Mountain snow is sparkly and beautiful. But cold. And those trees are huge. Hope you enjoyed your vacation in the USA.

  4. Still searching for that cute little chalet. πŸ™‚
    Like your square entry.

    • Thanks! If I could find a real chalet, I’d definitely move in. πŸ™‚

  5. Beautiful place!

  6. Great photos and awesome commentary. I think it would be a bit drafty! πŸ™‚

    • Hi Lisa. I agree with you. It would be very uncomfortable in the middle of winter.

  7. Brrrrrr, Justin. If I were you, I’d find a nice cave and settle in for the winter. But I know, beavers are different. I’m coming out of retirement in the next week or two to do an interview with Biasini, Anne Leueen’s horse on “Horse Addict.” I had to give her your blog address so he and his human can check it out. The post will be on both of our blogs. I’m pretty excited.

Why didn’t you post anything on Becky B’s squares this time? Oh right, you guys don’t celebrate Halloween or anything, but it was PastSquares, so you could have done anything. Don’t worry, I didn’t either, but this may be a new start for me. Maybe we can do some posts together next February for the next one. We have tons of pictures, and I know I haven’t used all of mine. I’m hoping I can go to Florida and ride Biasini when he goes down there. Wouldn’t that be fun???

Hope you are having a good spring and staying out of trouble.

    Your best friend, Manny
